Tasting Notes: Less than 2,000 bottles are produced of the Fico Per Filo. This organic-certified red is 100% Sangiovese from the prized Gugliaie vineyard, which is worked according to Biodynamic principals. Bold and structured, this is an incredible and very pure expression of Sangiovese, on par with Pergole Torte.
Estate History: At 21 years of age, Filippo Corsini persuaded his father to lend him a portion of his family's Chianti Classico estate, close to an ancient fig tree (fico), and oversaw the entire production process of his wine in 2015. Filippo tragically passed away a year later, but his legacy and project remain: a small plot of Sangiovese in the that seeks to honor the land on which it grows, above all else. Today, Filippo’s family and friends continue to produce this wine in his honor, and have added a second wine called “Per Filo” from the same vineyard, made with the same philosophy.
