Tasting Notes: The Caparsa Mimma offers an elegant and delicate expression of Sangiovese, showcasing a lively ruby color with garnet reflections. The nose is ethereal and aromatic, featuring bright red cherry, plum, and raspberry notes intertwined with hints of cedar, violet, and blond tobacco. On the palate, the wine delivers fresh, vibrant acidity and polished tannins, presenting layers of red fruit flavors with a long, spicy finish and a touch of blood orange. This highly refined and pure wine possesses both immediate charm and the structure to age gracefully over many years.
Estate History: The Azienda Agricola Caparsa estate is situated in the heart of the Chianti Classico region near Radda, with a history that includes a cellar dating back to the 17th century. The property was acquired by Professor Reginaldo Cianferoni in 1965, who initiated the replanting of the vineyards. Since 1982, the winery has been run by Paolo Cianferoni and his wife Gianna ("Mimma"), who farm all 12 hectares of their vineyards organically. Paolo is a passionate, traditional winemaker who believes in minimal intervention and allowing the unique gallestro and alberese soils and significant biodiversity of the high-altitude estate to shine through in his authentic, age-worthy wines. The entire family is involved in the operation, maintaining a philosophy rooted in traditional Tuscan winemaking methods.
