Tasting notes: Silky, high-toned, and overall pretty, the Chiesmonti boasts a blatant mineral underpinning and less sumptuously fleshy fruit than Le Trame. It spends two years in Stockinger barrels, just like its sister wine, and it comprises nearly entirely Sangiovese, with just a touch of Canaiolo.
Estate History: Giovanna Morganti has definitively become one of the best of the new generation of Tuscan winemakers. Podere Le Boncie is situated in the hamlet of San Felice, which itself is located a handful of minutes north of Castelnuovo Berardenga, in the southern tier of the Chianti Classico zone. Despite her commitment to organic farming and terroir, none of her bottlings are listed as Chianti Classico.
